LAPA launched its first Theater Retreat in 2019. Theater Retreat is a series of specialized theatrical workshops that bring together a large group of local, regional, and international prominent instructors in their field, in an attempt to offer a variety of theoretical and practical workshops to theater amateurs and emerging artists. In 2020, and due to COVID-19 pandemic, LAPA conducted Theater Retreat 2 virtually. This year, LAPA's third Theatre Retreat focuses on three aspects of theatre in the form of Labs. The three aspects are theatrical Writing (Writing Lab consisting of a course on playwriting), Scenography (Scenography Lab consisting of three courses on Stage design, Costume design, and SFX Makeup), and Acting (Actors' Lab consisting of six courses on the body, the voice, the space, and many other elements).

Program Goals:

•   To revive and enrich the cultural scene in Kuwait.
•   To discover and develop young talents and grow a community of theatre practitioners who will commit to LAPA’s events.
•   To activate the role of theater in the development of civilization.
•   To activate the role of performing arts as a cultural and economic sector in Kuwait and the Arab countries.
