FAD is a festival that celebrates a mixture of all art forms with a focus on dance through community education.
FAD has had 3 consecutive and highly successful editions in a row, in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The festival is held
from the 1st through the 3rd of December. Each day unfolds its own unique agenda, which includes workshops,
presentations, exhibitions, activities, and competitions.
This year's FAD includes:
Mash Art (7th November to 3rd December 2022):
This is a competition to get your creativity flowing whilst meeting fellow artists and developing your practice.
Registered participants are placed randomly into teams of equal numbered members to create a mashup of artists
from various backgrounds. Teams are then given a common theme (i.e., this year, “Green Planet”), and a leader
from an invited embassy is selected to create a performance, mixing the spectrum of artistic qualities available
in each group.
Workshops (End of November to 2nd December 2022):
A series of workshops by prominent figures in the field of dance, music, fine art and costume design.
Our exquisite line of artists this year are tailored to your requirements and welcomes everyone, child or adult.
The fun and education are the same!
Dance Battles: (1st & 2nd December 2022):
This section integrates raw talents and pure athleticism, where artists exchange and showcase their skills in
areas like street style, combinations of live music as a challenge, and more. International judges, as well as
MCs and DJ’s from GCC countries, are invited.
The GALA Performance! (3rd December 2022):
Do not miss out on the closing ceremony of FAD!
The gala takes place on the 2nd day of FAD and serves as the festival's finale. The day is filled with special
performances by LAPA departments as well as special acts by local and international artists showcasing their talents.
This event wraps up all of the previous day's activities by providing a grand stage for all of the mash art
finalists to compete on for the win. The gala is followed by the much-anticipated FAD award ceremony.
