About the award:

LOYAC Academy of Performing Arts "LAPA" launched this award to commemorate Gisele Khoury who dedicated her life to the credibility of the media. She was the first Arab media figure who delivered the first training workshop in the Al-Jawhar media program. She presented 6 training workshops that benefited 40 Arab youth.

Content:

Creating digital content that documents war crimes committed by the Zionist Entity, and violations of human rights in Gaza, West Bank, or Lebanon.

Duration:

• The main video with a duration of 2-4 minutes, suitable for uploading on YouTube

• A short version of the main video, lasting for 60-90 seconds, in Reels size (vertical) for posting on Instagram

Conditions:

• Participants age limit: 15-45 years

• Participants must be of Arab nationality.

• Participants must be independent: not employed by any media channel or platform.

• Videos must be of high technical video quality.

• Videos must include at least one testimony or dialogue with a character or eyewitness that serves the idea.

• Videos must consist of one clear idea/topic, and the scenes should be connected to demonstrate it.

• Examples of human rights violations that can be addressed in the submitted content: (noting that, as mentioned, video must focus on one clear topic):

  • Targeting journalists and media professionals.

    Targeting health care providers and civil defense.

    Torture of detainees in prisons.

    Siege, starvation, and preventing access to humanitarian aid and treatment.

    Use of internationally prohibited weapons.

    Targeting historical buildings and mosques.

    The intentional deprivation and destruction of earth, especially in Palestine (Scorched-Earth Policy).

    Targeting refugees in tents.

    
    

To increase the chance of winning:

Content that includes an exclusive video documenting any human rights violation captured by the participant (not pre-existing footage that has been previously published and used)

Awards:

• First Place: 1500$

• Second Place: 1000$

• Third Place: 500$

• Along with many empowerment opportunities in media field.
